This week I experimented with silver and gold leaf. There is currently gold leaf dust all over my studio, and trace amounts throughout the house. At first I tried to apply the leaf after I did the painting but that didn’t work very well, as the adhesive doesn’t make full contact with the paper. I found that applying it to the paper before hand works best, but you need to know exactly where you want it in the painting because the pastel doesn’t really adhere to the gold leaf. It was a fun experiment.
Happy New Year! I have been painting, just haven’t been posting. This new piece was created from a photo I took in Scotland. I loved the angles of the trees and the moss growing on them. Not sure what to title it yet…. any suggestions?

This is another painting in my Norway series. In Leon there is a skylift (gondola) that rises above the fjord and into the clouds of Mt. Hoven (1011 m.) On the misty trails we picked wild blueberries, encountered mountain sheep, and enjoyed the amazing landscape.
